HOT INK
PNWC DIRT
h = o = t + i = n = k
conference - presenters
i
n this week's "hot ink", you'll be treated to a blow-by-blow account of that Northwest literati perennial, the Pacific Northwest Writer's Conference. Hot
Ink is hosting and presenting
a panel in the "Evolving Technologies" section of the Conference. Panelists include:
- Frank Foerr, a Deputy Editor at SLATE
Magazine, Microsoft's attempt to get inside
the D.C. beltway. Ironically, the "inside the loop" mentality of
Slate came up as a pointed question at the PNWC. (Check
here on Monday for the whole story.)
- Michael Blythe, former Webmaster and Online Editorial
staffer at The BELLINGHAM REVIEW. The B-ham Review has
been published for 18 years, but only recently has gone online.
Interestingly, the entire contents of the Review are placed online with
each issue, contradicting popular wisdom about the attention capacity of
web readers.
- Sally Anderson, a free lance writer whose work has
appeared in many print publications, including the Seattle Weekly. Ms.
Anderson now works in online and multimedia production, and is employed as
an Editor at Corbis Corp.
- Alex Steffen, founding Editor of STEELHEAD, the Magazine of the Next
Northwest. Steelhead is publishing their THIRD issue on Tuesday of this
week. (Look for a review of the next issue on Friday on the front page.)
- Finally, the Panel Chair was Ned Hayes of Hot Ink, whose personal site
can be visited here.
c
heck here for a provocative take on the PNWC Conference on Sunday afternoon, after our writer (Robyn Taobene) returns from the trenches!
